The Executive Committee made the decision to cancel this year's AGM, which was to be held on Saturday 28th March in the AK Bell Library in Perth. It was felt that this was the correct response to the outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19 and the possible risk to those travelling and attending the meeting.
All members who were due to attend were notified accordingly. The formal business of the AGM was conducted 'virtually' to allow the Society to function effectively over the next 12 months.
As a result the subscription was kept at £20 for 2020/21. Alf Barnard was voted in as Treasurer for another year. Alan Rowan and Oliver Bartrum were voted on to the Executive Committee. They replace Jim Robertson and Alex Thomson who are leaving the committee after finishing their 4-year term. It's a shame that we could not thank them in person at the AGM; but at least they can enjoy a bottle of malt whisky during the lockdown period! The two nominated TMS charity donations for 2020/21 were approved. The charities are Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) and Mountain Aid.
The next AGM has been provisionally booked for 27th March 2021 at the A. K. Bell Library.
