Brief Update following AGM at the Birnam Institute 16th April 2011

Committee Changes.
2011 TMS Committee

Peter Willimott was elected unapposed to continue for a second term as honorary secretary. Committee members David Batty, John Donohoe, and Pete Williams were also elected for a second term. Anne Marie Foot stood down from the Executive after serving her second term. The President thanked Anne Marie for her work and reported that, despite standing down from the Executive,  she was continuing in her role as newsletter editor. Anne Marie's place on the Executive was filled by Alistair Milner.

Following the AGM the meeting enjoyed a 'Mountain Minds' quiz organised by Findlay Swinton. The coffee break was followed by Stuart Brooks, the Chief Executive of the John Muir Trust talk 'Is it good Enough? Quality and Values of our Wild Land'.

The Irvine Butterfield Memorial Lecture was given in the evening by David Jarman. David gave us a fascinating talk on 'Making Munros - and unmaking them again (with the aid of geo-stuff, not theodolites ...)'.
